Arabesque wallpaper created by Réveillon in 1789 (design no. 692), reissued and wood-block printed on a brushed blue ground by the Jacquemart et Bénard manufactory, successors of Réveillon.
The Manufacture’s “RJB” stamp, hand-dated “11 Messidor” in the Revolutionary calendar — establishing production after 1792 — appeared at the bottom of the paper and now on the back of the panel.
Very good condition, never hung. Mounted on canvas and stretcher, framed.
