Glacial Seas was the last and most striking scene of the panoramic Zones Terrestres, designed by the artist Eugène Ehrmann in 1855 and printed by the Zuber Manufacture.
This panel is one of the last hand-printed versions produced before the original wood-blocks were destroyed during the Second World War. It perfectly illustrates the remarkable finesse of the engraving and the subtle delicacy of the tones.
